NSFW Artist Removes “Naughty” Fanart, Bowser After Complaints From Parties Claiming To Be Nintendo

Sidat.ID, – Nintendo is known to be aggressive with its IP protection. Many fan projects had to be canceled because the company decided to launch its DMCA. Although this hasn’t stopped fans’ enthusiasm for creating their work inspired by the characters from the Nintendo game, and perhaps their unique passions.

A Patreon 3D artist by the name of AkkoArcade received a warning message from Patreon after Nintendo of America requested the immediate removal of one of its 3D models. The model in question is a 3D model of the Peepee Bowser. We can’t share which model is in question, but the artist has already shared his story via Twitter.

The model was first distributed in June 2018, so there is a 3-year lag before being claimed by the DMCA. But the question is is it true that the claim made by Nintendo of America, or a joke that claims to be Nintendo?

This is a rare case on Patreon, which is usually a haven for NSFW artists. AkkoArcade herself remains pessimistic about this claim and decided to share the problematic 3D model with other sources so that it can be used by other rogue SFM filmmakers.

If the plaintiffs are real Nintendo, this isn’t the first time they’ve killed a “naughty” fan-made project. Last year, Nintendo shut down the hentai fangame with Peach as the main star.***
